PIQUA BEATS FAIRBORN FOR FIRST WIN...
PIQUA - After struggling through three straight losses to start the season, the Piqua baseball team needed a spark.
They received it Monday as Logan Rasor returned from shoulder surgery to pitch four innings in an 11-4 route of Fairborn.
The Indians broke the game open with six runs in the first three innings, but allowed Fairborn back into the game with four runs in the fourth. All four runs were unearned.
But the Indians wouldn't be denied as they scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and two in the fifth to seal the contest.
The big hit for Piqua came in the bottom of the fourth as Shea Selsor pounded out a triple to score a run. Selsor went 3-for-4 on the afternoon and recorded 4 RBI.
The Indians pounded out 11 hits on the afternoon and surrendered just six to the Skyhawks.
Rasor picked up the win in his debut as the Indians improve to 1-3 on the young season.
Piqua looks to keep the momentum going on Wednesday as Springfield South visits Hardman Field.
