PIQUA DROPS DOUBLE-HEADER TO GRAHAM...

STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
The Piqua baseball team couldn't get enough timely hits Saturday, losing a doubleheader to Graham by scores of 11-9 and 8-4.

The Indians outhit the Falcons 24-19.

"We have been hitting the ball well the last couple games," Piqua coach Chris Barr said. "We just didn't get the timely hit when we need it. We left a lot of runners on base. And we had one bad inning in each game."

Willie Monbeck, Kiel Feeser and Gaaj Meyer combined on the pitching effort in the opening game.

Taylor Gertner was 2-for-3, while Logan Rasor was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Justin Jennings was 2-for-2 with a triple and one RBI, while Feeser was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meyer had a double and Cole Selsor was 2-for-4.

Freshman Aaron Christy pitched the first six innings of the second game for Piqua.

Meyer was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kyle Selover had a triple, while Rasor and Shea Selsor were both 2-for-4.

Piqua will host Sidney today.
