INDIANS HOLD OFF BEAVERS...

For three-plus quarters, the Piqua boys basketball team was nearly flawless.
The Indians led by as many as 23 against one of the top programs in the Dayton area in Beavercreek and were still in front 48-27 on David Rolf’s basket with 7:51 remaining in the game.
In spite of a late surge by Beavercreek, Piqua was able to hold on for a 68-60 win.
David Rolf and Dan Wilson each scored game-highs of 20 points, while Wes Reed had 13 points and Justin Hemm scored 11.
Piqua was 23 of 41 from the floor for 56 percent and 12 of 18 from the line for 67 percent. Beavercreek was 21 of 46 from the floor for 46 percent and 13 of 18 from the line for 72 percent.
Piqua won the battle of the boards 24-19 and Beavercreek had 13 turnovers.
The Indians will be right back in action tonight, hosting Greenville. It kicks off with the freshman game at 4:30 p.m.
