PIQUA ROLLS TO WIN OVER THE WAVE...
STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
The Piqua boys basketball team may have only had 10 practices so far this season.
But, the Indians made the most of their limited time in the gym and as a result will take a 3-0 record to Northmont on Friday.
The Indians used a strong second half to finish off a scrappy Greenville team Saturday night in Garbry Gymnasium 67-49.
David Rolf came up big for the Indians with a game-high 23 points, while Dan Wilson scored 14 and Wes Reed knocked down 13 points.
Piqua was 28 of 52 from the floor for 54 percent and seven of 13 from the line for 54 percent.
Greenville was 20 of 44 from the floor for 45 percent and seven of eight from the line for 88 percent.
Piqua won the battle of the boards 26-19 and had 12 turnovers to Greenville’s 18.
Piqua will open GWOC North play at Northmont Friday … after getting some more practice time under their belts.
