INDIANS DEFEAT SPRINGFIELD NORTH, 4-1...
STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
Brian Langston continued his scoring tear as the Piqua boys soccer team defeated Springfield North 4-1 for its second straight win.
Langston scored three goals, running his total to seven over the last three games.
“Brian (Langston) works really hard out there,” Piqua Chad Haemmerle said. “His desire and determination show. Brian and Kory (Yohey) are working really welltogether up top.”
Langston had both goals in the first half to put Piqua up 2-1 and then added the Indians first goal of the second half, making it 3-1.
Yohey had two assists during that stretch, running his total to six to go with four goals over the last three games.
“Those two guys are working really well together,” Haemmerle said. “Brian is doing a great job finishing and putting the ball in the back of the net.”
Danny Henry scored on a penalty kick for Piqua’s final goal.
“You never want to complain about a 4-1 win over a league team,” Haemmerle said. “But, we are just not playing really consistent. We are going to have to up our level of play.”
Piqua will host Wayne Thursday.
