PIQUA SLUGGISH IN WIN OVER MIAMI EAST...

STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
Brian Langston had two goals for Piqua, while Kory Yohey and Danny Henry each scored one.

Yohey, Wes Barker and Tyler Bachman all had assists. Tom Holfinger had five saves in goal for the Indians.

“To be honest, we didn’t play all that well,” Piqua coach Chad Haemmerle said. “When we did play well, they (Miami East) had trouble staying with us, but the game was much closer than the score indicates. We came out flat and with not a lot of energy.”

It was Piqua’s third game in six days.

“I am not going to use that as an excuse,” Haemmerle said. “But, I am sure the kids were fatigued. The Butler game was an emotional game and we had another close loss Thursday against a good team.”

Piqua, 6-9-1, will host Troy in Division I action the same night at 7 p.m.

The Indians beat the Trojans in the regular season.

“Troy is going to come in here fired up looking to avenge the regular season  loss,” Haemmerle said. “We need to be ready to play.”
