PIQUA DROPS GAME THAT WAS WITHIN ITS GRASP...
STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
The Piqua girls basketball team had a victory in its grasp Saturday against Northmont.
The Lady indians led 30-23 at halftime in its GWOC North opener, but Northmont used a 34-10 advantage in the second half to win 57-40.
"We felt we had a win within our grasp when for the second time in six games we took a lead into halftime," Piqua coach Brad Allen said. "Although this is a good sign and our girls are continuing to work hard and improving, we need to finish a team off when we have them on the ropes and continued to do the smart things that gave us the lead."
Piqua had two players in double figures as Kami Baker scored 11 and Kristen Magoteaux tallied 10.
The Lady Indians drop to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the CWOC North.
