LADY INDIANS FALL TO WAYNE, 4-0...
STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
On Wednesday night the Indians took on the Lady Warriors from Wayne.
The Warriors are one of the top teams in the GWOC this season and have one of the most talented young soccer players in the state of Ohio in sophomore Lisa Nouanesengsy.
She quickly showed how talented she is scoring a goal in the second minute of the game to put Wayne up 1-0.
The Lady Indians settled down and held Wayne scoreless until late in the half when Nouanesengsy got her second score of the game.
”We know how good Lisa is.” Piqua coach Rob Alexander. said. “We played Wayne twice last season including our last game in the tournament. Even as a freshman, Lisa was amazing.
“We marked her tight with Maggie (Warner) and everyone else was looking for her, but she just has a nose for the ball, great quickness and speed and she possesses great skills.”
In the second half the Lady Indians continued to play tough holding the score at 2-0 until Wayne found the goal with under twenty to go in the game. Wayne scored one more time to close out the scoring at 4-0.
“We hung tough with them tonight,” Alexander said. “I thought that our girls played hard and we had some chances to score late. We will be a better team for having played against a team of this caliber.”
