PIQUA TAKE CARE OF TROTWOOD, 6-1...
COVERAGE PROVIDED BY THE PIQUA DAILY CALL
It is not an ideal situation for the Piqua girls soccer team.
The Indians have hit a lull in their schedule, where they play two games in a 14-day period.
Which makes it hard to get into any kind of rhythm.
But, that being the case, Trotwood-Madison is probably the perfect opponent and Indians rolled to a 6-1 victory over the Rams Wednesday at Wertz Stadium.
By halftime, the Indians had opened a comfortable 4-1 lead and Piqua added two more goals in the second half.
Sarah Bell opened the scoring and finished with two goals, as did Maggie Warner. Warner’s second goal came with just seven seconds remaining in the first half on a Kristen Magoteaux assist.
Alex Jess had one goal and one assist, Brianna Saine scored her first goal of the season and Amber Arnold ahad an assist.
Now, the Indians enter an important stretch of games after improving to 3-6-2 overall and 1-2-0 in the GWOC North.
The Lady Indians will host the Lady Wave Monday. The JV game will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.
