AN UNEXPECTED PERFORMANCE IN PIQUA LOSS...
STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
It was not what Piqua golf coach Chris Barr expected when the Indians returned to their home course to play Greenville Wednesday.
Coming off two straight strong performances in tournaments, the Indians lost 158-176 at Echo Hills.
“Not at all,” Barr said about being surprised about his team’s high score. “It was a beautiful day to play. We haven’t played well on our home course and we missed an opportunity today.”
Ben Gover continued his strong play, with a one-over par 37.
Other Piqua scores were David Duer 44, Brody Fox 46, Kyle Brumbaugh 49, Jordan Fashner 50, Kiel Feeser 52.
“Ben did play well,” Barr said. “But, we are just not consistent. And when you are not consistent playing the teams we play, you are going to struggle.”
Piqua will play Northmont today at Larch Tree and Tipp City Friday at Troy Country Club.
