PIQUA FRUSTRATED AT PERFORMANCE IN GWOC...

STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
ITHACA — Piqua boys golf coach Chris Barr was hoping Thursday would be the day the Indians put it all together at the GWOC Postseason tournament.

But, Barr is still waiting for that day after Piqua shot a 351 total to finish 13th out of the 16 teams competing. The Indians finished the season fifth in the GWOC North final standings.

“It is not just disappointing, it is very frustrating,” Barr said. “I really thought we would play well today. I don’t know what it is. We just did not play well at all today.”

That fact was not lost on seniors Ben Gover and Kiel Feeser, who shot 81 and 84 respectively to earn second team All-GWOC honors. Both had entered the day hoping to make first team.

“Disappointment is an understatement,” Gover said. “We really didn’t play well at all.”

Feeser agreed.

“We can come back from this (at sectionals),” he said. “We are a lot better than this. We just didn’t play well today.”

Brody Fox carded a 94 and was named honorable mention All-GWOC North. Other Piqua scores were David Duer 92, Jordan Fashner 94 and Kyle Brumbaugh 107.
