PIQUA BEATS SIDNEY IN THREE GAMES...

The Piqua volleyball team set itself up for a showdown with Vandalia-Butler Thursday in GWOC North action.
The Lady Indians, 9-5 overall and 2-0 in the GWOC North, spiked Sidney Tuesday 25-14, 25-16, 25-13.
Chelsea Hostetter had six aces, four digs and 24 assists for the Lady Indians. Sara Keck had four kills, three digs, four blocks and three aces; while Ashley Belisle had four aces, five blocks and three kills.
Cassi Curtis had eight digs and two kills, while Joni Barnett had four aces, three digs, three blocks and four kills.
Macareena Studebaker had five digs and Peyton Gertner added two kills. Kayle Quinter had five kills and three digs.
The Piqua junior varsity won 25-11, 25-13.
Shelbi Sullenberger had eight kills. Peyton Gertner had four aces and 11 assists, while Sarah Apple had three aces and six kills. Ashley Kraft added four kills.
Piqua will play at Butler Thursday.
The Piqua freshman defeated Houston 25-11, 25-17 to improve to 6-4. They will play in the eight team Parkway Invitational Saturday.
