PIQUA MAKES QUICK WORK OF SPRINGFIELD SOUTH...
STORY BY ROB KISER - PIQUA DAILY CALL
The Piqua volleyball team spent more time on the bus than on the floor Tuesday, making quick work of Springfield South with a 25-12, 25-11, 25-13 victory in GWOC crossover action.
“Tonight was about being consistent for the whole match,” Piqua coach Chris Davis said. “I thought we did a great job at that. We have a couple tough weeks ahead of us. We still have things to fine tune, but we will get there.”
Sara Keck pounded 10 kills and added two blocks for the Lady Indians; while Kayle Quinter had seven kills and served eight aces.
Chelsea Hostetter had six digs, 28 assists and four kills.
Ashley Belisle and Cassi Curtis each had three kills and two digs. Joni Barnett added three kills and two assists, while Peyton Gertner had two assists and three kills.
Piqua, 7-5, will host Northmont Thursday in its GWOC North opener.
The Piqua JVs also won, recording a 25-19, 25-11 victory.
